Carol Almonte graduated from Hunter College School of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies with a Concentration in Journalism and a Minor in Sociology. She was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and Queens, New York.
She aspires to become a physician scientist and a public health journalist. Carol's career goal within journalism is to deliver information by making complex science and health issues more comprehensible by acting as a bridge between scientists, health professionals, and consumers to a broad audience of readers, viewers, and listeners.
Her mission is to bring social change by educating, breaking stigmas, and advocating for social injustices and stereotypes within medicine, public health, and journalism in minority communities.
Aside from her love for writing and studying science, she loves to read, travel, and spend time with her family in her leisure time.
